East of Scotland Squash Association - Over 45 Team Cup

After asking for feedback from all East of Scotland squash clubs it has been agreed to make a change to the East of Scotland Squash team knock-out cup. The cup will now be played for by players who are over 45 years old, rather than those who are over 35. The knock-out cup was first introduced in season 1988/89 when many team players in league matches were aged less than 35 years old. The cup was intended to give slightly older players the opportunity to play competitive team squash against their contemporaries. Moving forward to season 2010/11 and over-35 year old players are very much the norm in many teams in the league. To try and ensure that the original idea of the cup is carried on, it's been agreed to increase the minimum age of players in the cup to over 45. As such entries into this season's East of Scotland Squash team over-45 knock-out cup are now being accepted. First round losers will be entered into the knock-out plate competition. Entries must be sent to me by midnight on Friday 11th November 2011. The draw will be made shortly afterwards. The cost is still just £10 per team. There will be five players in each team. Clubs may enter as many teams as they want, although team pools will have to be kept separate. Teams can be made up of boys and / or girls, as long as all players are over 45 years old on 11th November 2011 It would be good if some food and drink was available after matches and the cost should be split evenly between the teams as it's not a home and away league. I'm sure that teams and players can agree this themselves. No teams will be entered into the competition unless their entry fee is paid in full. Contact me and I will let you know how to pay. If you're not the right person to receive this email, please forward it to someone in your club who is.
Any questions, please ask.
Good luck.
