so it does
|
1. |
The League will be split into Divisions, with no more than 7 teams
in any Division. The League season will run between September and August,
split into three terms. |
|
2. |
Team organisers must contact their opponents to confirm availability.
All matches should be played on the dates and times on the League fixture
list. There will be promotion and relegation between terms (i.e. three times
per year). |
|
3. |
A team will be 3 players, placed in order of ability (not age
groups). |
|
4. |
A match will be one team against another, with player 1 v player 1,
2 v 2 and 3 v 3. These individual ties will be “best of 5 games”, i.e. one of
the players will win 3-2, 3-1 or 3-0. |
|
5. |
Every game won scores one point for the player’s team. The winning
team (the one which wins the most ties) also gets a bonus of 2 points. |
|
6. |
A match result card must be filled in and emailed to the League
organiser as soon as possible after the match. |
|
7. |
Every player must wear eye protection – no exceptions. |
|
8. |
The balls to be used are : Division 1 : Dunlop “double yellow dot” Division 2 : Dunlop “double yellow dot” Division 3 : Dunlop “double/single yellow dot” Division 4 : Dunlop “single yellow dot”/ “Mini Squash PRO” Division 5 : Dunlop “Mini-squash PRO/Improver/Karakal” The guiding principle is which ball will give the players the most
enjoyable game, given their strength and ability. |
|
9. |
Each tie must be refereed either by an adult or (preferably) one of
the players with the help, if required, of an adult. |
|
10. |
If a dangerous
situation arises (e.g. someone is about to hit the ball with their opponent
right in the way) the referee must shout “Stop” and award the stroke/let
which would have applied had the player stopped and asked. |
|
11. |
Promotion and relegation will normally be “2-up/2-down” but there
may be some exceptions to this if a team is found to be in too high or low a
Division. |
|
12. |
Players must show courtesy and respect to their opponents. Parents,
etc. should be supportive and sporting but not disruptive. Anyone not enjoying themselves will be severely dealt with. |
